Cape Town is one of the most popular tourist destination cities in the world.
The peak season for travelling there is between September and March which is South Africa’s summer. Cape Town is known as the “Mother City” of Africa and the Western Cape.
The city has a moderate temperature all year round and in the summer it has a very Mediterranean climate. Basically it has very easy temperatures all year round, although it does experience some winter rain (mostly at night.)
The city is very diverse because it is contemporary and historical; in fact it gives off a great cosmopolitan vibe which can compete with any European great cities. This is not surprising as the culture is an amalgamation of Indonesian, French, Dutch, British and German settlers, the local Bushman, the Hottentot tribes and the Bantu tribes from the north. In general it is a very down to earth city! Not only is it trendy, it is very beautiful with lovely sandy beaches and table mountain smiling down upon the city!
Things to do in Cape Town include visiting Table Mountain, the sandy beaches and the lovely museums scattered throughout the city. It also boasts a roaring night life and a wide range of stylish shops. You can’t go to Cape Town without going to the Green Market Square Flea Market! It is also known as the place to either start or end a safari trail and the Garden Route.
