The Kalahari Gemsbok National Park was formed in 1931 to protect the migratory game especially Gemsbok! In the late 1990’s it joined with the gemsbok National Park to Form the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (one of the first in Southern Africa.) This park is perfect for those who plan to make a long stay in a Safari Park and see Botswana as well.

Again for those Bird lovers the park is known as a haven for Birds of prey. This park is the typical idea of a safari park with beautiful red sand dunes and dry river beds. It also is home to predators such as lion and leopard with obviously a lot of game and antelope. It is over 3.6 million hectares in area and is one of few conservation areas of this size left in the world!

The parks accommodation consists of six different camps all varying in size and cost! Three of those are more civilised with basic shopping facilities and places where you can buy fuel whereas the other three have no fences and rest on the open serenity of the Kalahari.

This is a must for those who want to see a big park with a sense of the Africa at its wildest!!
